December 2022, Terpsikord Ensemble. Position: Videographer. Filmed a multi-camera live performance of Handel’s “Messiah” performed by the The Terpsikord Ensemble, comprising of musicians and singers from Broadway and The Metropolitan Opera.
December 2022, Resonant Pictures. Position: Production Assistant. Helped facilitate a shoot for EOS Hospitality, who create luxury vacation experiences.
November 2022, Gately Production Services. Position: 2nd AD. Checked in all talent and communicated needs between set and holding for a music video PSA made for the Parkinsons Wellness Project. Roughly 30 background, many of whom had the disease. Used my uncommonly chill demeanor to communicate with a group who would literally have a seizure if under stress that they were needed on set ASAP.
October 2022, Dress Code. Position: Office PA. Created the pre-production booklet and kept track of purchase orders for a series of 4 30-second spots for east-coast-based supermarket chain Giant.
October 2022. Position: Director of Photography. Shot an upcoming independent 35mm short film using a borrowed Aaton Penelope camera. More details to follow.
October 2022. Position: Director/editor. Made a video for my band PROJECTIONIST's song "Breaking Out." Shot on a MiniDV Canon camera. Conceptualized a jailbreak from a mental asylum as a fun and apt metaphor for getting out of a rut. Explained my composition and movement ideas to friends behind the camera. Had the realization that cutting to the beat (musically) rather than cutting to the beat (emotionally) in a music video is mad overrated.
September 2022, Dress Code. Office PA on Custom Ink commercial. Shot in Dobbs Ferry and Bushwick, NY. Continued to learn my way around Showbiz Budgeting and assisted with logging equipment orders and money spent by the production.
September 2022, CMP Film & Design. Position: Office PA. Set up a production office in the corner of a very nice house in Montclair, NJ for a Food Network holiday spot featuring Bobby Flay. Printed. A lot. Learned to use Showbiz Budgeting software.
September 2022, Fire Ants. Position: Production Assistant. Picked up and transported the mostly French crew for the FENDI x Marc Jacobs collab show held at the Manhattan Center, part of NY Fashion Week 2022.
August 2022, Mekka Media. Position: Office PA. Worked at IBM headquarters in Armonk, NY for a commercial promoting their advances in quantum computing. Lots of printing materials for crew and processing start-work forms and time cards.
August 2022, Netflix. Position: Locations Assistant. Worked on the DC unit of Netflix feature biopic "Rustin". Shot on such locations as the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, and Eastern Market. Set up tents, cones, and the works. Beat my previous record of steps taken in a day at 38,653.
June 2022, Neither Fish Nor Foul. Position: Videographer. Attended and captured an opening at Van der Plas Gallery in the LES during NY NFT week. Guests included representatives from Teenage Engineering showing off their very cool new pocket-sized synthesizers, YouTube personalities, and artists breaking into the NFT world. Filmed interviews and a live set of one such artist which became, at its completion, an NFT itself.
June 2022, DC Collective. Position: Production Assistant. Food Network TV spot for Alex Guarnaschelli's parking lot cook-off. Drove client, stood in for Alex and assisted art in setting up a makeshift aesthetically pleasing kitchen outside Corrado's Market in Wayne, NJ.
June 2022, CBS Broadcasting. Position: Production Assistant. Worked on Apple TV show "Carpool Karaoke" with special guests Chris Red and Method Man. Followed along in the caravan of cars and got lots of release signatures from onlookers caught in the frame in Central Park.
June 2022, Suite Spot. Position: Production Assistant. BMW pride month commercial debuting Christian Cowan's rainbow design for the 2022 BMW 4 series. Very sick car. Bought the entire supply of tennis balls from the SoHo Wilson store for G&E, redirected foot traffic away from TheRealReal store (harder than one might imagine), and attempted semi-successfully to sweep water off a cobblestone street (also harder than one might imagine).
May 2022, Love, Homestead. Position: Production Assistant. ASPCA commercial filming in the Upper East Side and a New Jersey horse farm. Saw lots of dogs. Drove the crew van and went on runs. Lots of tents and sandbag moving. Shoveled horse manure.
May 2022, Dress Code. Position: Production Assistant. PA'd on a stop-motion Planters Peanuts commercial. Duties included no more and no less than picking up breakfast each morning and sitting on standby for the following 12 hours. Started and finished The Ark Sakura by Kobo Abe on this gig.
May 2022, Becky 2 The Movie, LLC. Position: Production Assistant. PA on an independent horror feature film, "The Wrath of Becky." Shot on locations throughout rural New Jersey. Drove the 26-foot grip truck with air brakes and anticipated death at every moment. Got off (mostly) without a hiccup. Witnessed a vehicle exploding (intentionally, for a scene).
March 2022, ABC Studios. Position: Locations Assistant. On-set locations liaison and off-set holding/catering scout for Hulu miniseries "Fleishman is in Trouble." Filmed in upscale locations throughout Manhattan, Upstate New York, and Long Island.
February 2022, Kanan Productions. Position: Locations Assistant. Worked on Starz TV series "Power Book III: Raising Kanan." Locations included the active 8th floor of New York Metropolitan Hospital, an East Harlem housing project, and a lizard store in Richmond Hill, Queens.
November 2021, Vox Creative. Position: PA. PA'd on a Grub-hub commercial.
October 2021, PROJECTIONIST - Rocket. Position: Director/editor. Made a Wong-Kar-Wai-themed music video, VFR mopeds through the city streets and all, for a PROJECTIONIST song.
September 2021, Blank Square Productions. Position: Swing G/E. Grip and electric work on a French Montana music video.
August 2021, VSNY Films. Position: Swing G/E. Helped a local key grip on shoots driving his grip trucks, picking up and dropping off rentals, and organizing gear.
May 2021, THINKfilm, Inc. Position: Locations Assistant. Locations Assistant on the DC unit of the FX show “American Crime Story - Impeachment”. Filmed exclusively around major historical landmarks in the city and, consequently, learned the intricate maze that is acquiring DC parking/filming permits. Was on call to answer location questions to the crew. Got really good at driving a big van through narrow streets in cutthroat traffic. Deepened my love of the orange traffic cone by keeping an inventory of 400 of them.
November 2020, Eye Productions, Inc. Position: Locations PA. Worked on the CBS/Apple TV show “Swagger” about Kevin Durant’s adolescence. Posted walking/parking signage around the set, set up/struck crew trailers and utility lighting, acted as liaison between crew members and location owners/representatives, drove the locations sprinter van (only got it stuck once), and grew a deep affinity for orange traffic cones.
October 2020, "Scarecrow". Position: Director. Directed a short film as part of a three-part horror anthology "The Triptych of the Spirit". Official Selection “Independent Shorts Awards 2021”; Official Selection “Indie Short Fest 2021”.
October 2019, Ministering to Ministers Foundation. Position: videographer. Created an outreach video for the MTM Foundation calling out to ministers who have gone through forced termination in their workplace.
September 2019, ENVIDA. Position: videographer. Shooting short real-estate videos for properties in the Richmond/Williamsburg, VA area.
August 2019, Sister Radio. Position: camera operator/videographer. Assisted in the filming of the WRIR - Richmond Independent Radio sponsored documentary short “Sister Radio”, about the partnership between the public radio stations of Richmond, VA, and Segou, Mali.
July 2019, Burning Circus Burning Mall. Position: producer. Produced a record for Richmond, VA-based alt-folk project “Burning Circus Burning Mall”.
May 2019, Cold. Position: videographer. Shot a music video for Fairfax-based blues band “Catchin’ Toads”.
April 2019, MULTIVALENT: Clay, Mindfulness, and Memory. Position: videographer. Created the official promotional video for The National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts’ 2020 conference being held in Richmond, Virginia.
September 2018, Super Squad. Position: grip. Worked on the G&E department on the pilot of the Adult Swim show Super Squad.
August 2018, Close. Position: videographer. Created a music video for the Los Angeles-based hip-hop artist Lamar.
July 2018, Purrfect Pup. Position: videographer. Created a series of promotional and informative videos for the Purrfect Pup company. The videos were used in marketing and crowdfunding campaigns for the product, which was a contender in this season of Shark Tank.
June 2018, Stage Hypnosis Live. Position: videographer. Led a camera crew in capturing the live event of one of Tim Miller’s Hypnotizing America with Tim Miller shows.
May 2018, Scary Pair of Underwear. Position: Director. A music video for children’s music artist Steve Wyse.
May 2018, Food and Drug Administration. Position: production assistant. Helped the production of a series of anti-chewing tobacco social media ads commissioned by the FDA. The shoot consisted of man-on-the-street type interviews in areas surrounding Richmond.
April 2018, Slave Cry. Position: production assistant. Worked as a production assistant on the short film Slave Cry, directed by Richmond-based filmmaker Jai Jamison.
February 2018, RVA Environmental Film Festival. Position: photographer. The official photographer for the VIP reception of the RVAEFF hosted in Richmond at the Science Museum of Virginia. Filmmakers and other key creative personnel were present.
January 2018, Winter Daze/So Vicious. Position: director/editor. Shot and edited two music videos for DMV-based hip-hop artist Avid.
December 2017, Homeland. Position: extra. Worked as an extra on season 7 of the Showtime original show Homeland.
November 2017, Pocahontas Reframed: Native American Storytellers Film Festival. Position: media coordinator/videographer. Throughout the three-day festival, I ensured that everything happening at the festival was captured by either myself or other volunteer videographers. For all 35 hours of the festival, every speaker, panelist, and filmmaker was recorded as they introduced and discussed their respective films.
November 2017, Teach Me. Position: director/writer/editor. A music video for the song 'Teach Me' on the 2016 record 'Reveries'.
October 2017, Metropolitan Educational Research Consortium. Position: videographer/editor. Created a highlight promotional video for the MERC conference as a part of VCU's School of Education. The commercial will be used to recap the event for the following years of the program.
October 2017, Wake Forest Alumni Medal Ceremony. Position: videographer. Led a group of videographers in filming a medal award ceremony for the military graduates of Wake Forest University. Will be used for an upcoming documentary on veterans and the GI program.
August 2017, James River Film Festival. Position: photographer. The official photographer for the James River Film Festival screening of the Corbett Redford documentary Turn it Around: The Story of East Bay Punk, executive produced by Green Day.
January 2017, Gaia, 4 minutes. Position: cinematographer. Filmed a short film about corporate greed and its effect on the environment for New York-based filmmaker Kat Vlasova.
October 2016, Reveries. Position: writer/performer/producer. A 75-minute concept album of original music about the dreams we have as children and what happens to them as we grow older. The genre ranges from folk to alternative rock to electronic.
September 2016, A Look at the Mentoring Program. Position: camera/editing. Filmed a video for South Lakes High School to play to the incoming freshman about what the school’s mentoring program is and introduce the different mentors.
September 2016, 6996. Position: photographer. Shot a portfolio of products for the start-up business 6996, which specializes in camping and outdoor supplies.
June 2016, Sunland. Position: cinematographer. A short film about a man holding another pent-up in a house for “protection from the outside”. Official Selection of VHSL Film Festival for Best Narrative.
June 2016, position: performer. Musically accompanied a singer in the Show One Korea competition, sponsored by the South Korean government, designed to promote the reunification of North and South Korea. We placed second in the Washington Chapter of the event.
April 2016, Chance at Life, 3 minutes. Position: director/cinematographer/editor. A music video created for the non-profit organization No Chain in which a girl finds the courage to escape her oppressive community and lead others to freedom. The music video was included on USB drives which were sent across the North Korean border in order to spread news and outside media to the country’s isolated people.
February 2016, Pencils, 3 minutes. Position: co-director/cinematographer. A short film made entirely using the app Snapchat about a girl who is unable to do her schoolwork due to her pencil constantly disappearing. Created for Tribeca Snapchat Shorts. One of ten finalists screened at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival.
April 2015, Permanent Dissonance. Position: cinematographer/editor. A short film about a high school student applying to an art school who is followed around by a girl manifesting his insecurities. Finalist at the VHSL Film Festival.
March 2015, Rage, 9 minutes. Position: writer/director/cinematographer/editor. A music video for an original song that depicts images of war and the people left in its wake. The song and video were made to promote the charity War Child, and all of its proceeds were donated to the charity.
February 2015, Soak in the Seconds, 4 minutes. Position: director/cinematographer/editor. A music video for local artist Jade Lewis. The video, reflecting the theme of the song, depicts the deterioration of human relationships by cutting between an hourglass and a boy and girl physically fading away.
February 2015 - May 2016, Cymbalize. Position: performer. Performed in a band called Cymbalize at local shows and venues. We played close to 30 gigs, many of which for a cause such as Fiesta Asia or Bands for Bikes, and won the regional Battle of the Bands competition.
March 2014, From Within, 5 minutes. Position: writer/director/editor. A short film about a boy who, out of fear, abandons his friend after watching him get beat up. Placed first at the 2014 Video Fairfax Awards.
Spring 2014, Purpose. Position: writer. A 100-page screenplay about a girl, living in a post-apocalyptic world, who embarks on a long journey to retrieve a healing plant to save her dying younger brother.
November 2013 - September 2014, Tuesdays. Position: content creator. A weekly YouTube web series in which I would give tutorials on certain aspects of filmmaking such as how to use DSLRs, lighting techniques, editing, color grading, etc.May 2015-16, Reston Youth Triathlon. Position: camera/editing. Filmed a promotional video for the Reston Youth Triathlon of the race itself and the process of planning the event, as well as the cause behind it.
April 2013, On Your Own, 4 minutes. Position: writer/director/editor. A short film about a boy who is visited by his future self after being peer pressured into doing something he doesn't want to. Placed second at the 2013 Video Fairfax Awards.
March 2012, 1066, 3 minutes. Position: writer/director/editor. A stop-motion animated film about a medieval soldier who wakes up behind enemy lines after the Battle of Hastings in the year 1066. Placed second at the 2012 Video Fairfax Awards.
December 2012, Squadron 13: Infiltration. Position: writer/director/editor. A stop-motion short film based around Star Wars in which a group of clone troopers takes on a covert mission to capture the evil General Grievous. Currently has over 3 million views on YouTube.
